Provost concert to air on KET

MURRAY, Ky. -- Murray State University “The Provost’s Concert---A Tribute to Retiring Provost Dr. Gary Brockway” is scheduled to air on the Kentucky Educational Television (KET) network July-August. The concert was held on April 22, starring Alison Brown and Terry Mike Jeffrey and featuring the Murray State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dennis Johnson. Alison Brown is an accomplished banjo player and co-owner with her husband bassist Garry West of Compass Records in Nashville. Terry Mike Jeffrey was born in western Kentucky and is a product of the music of the 60’s and 70’s.

The MSU Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dennis Johnson has performed nationally and internationally most recently at Carnegie Hall (New York) and the Kennedy Center (Washington). The flute solo in the American Trilogy finale was performed by senior music major Kayla Dunn from Princeton, KY.

The Provost’s Concert was taped at historic Lovett Auditorium on the campus of Murray State University with production by MSU’s Electronic Media Services: Stan Marinoff, Producer and Jeremy McKeel, Director.

Airing dates and times for the concert on KETKY are July 5 at 9 p.m., July 9 at 8 p.m., July 11 at 7 p.m., July 15 at 4 p.m., July 19 at 9 a.m., July 21 at 8 p.m., Aug. 1 at 4 p.m., Aug. 15 at 2 p.m., Aug. 17 at 9 p.m., Aug. 28 at 10 p.m., Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. All times are eastern.
